TNI to Strengthen Maritime Information Exchange with the European Union

The exchange of information in the maritime sector is expected to be beneficial for the security and defense of the Republic of Indonesia.

TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa will strengthen military cooperation with the European Union through the exchange of information in the maritime sector using a platform called IORIS or Indo-Pacific Regional Information Sharing (IORIS).

"Later, Mr. Sylvain (Military Advisor European Union) will prepare presentation material for CRIMARIO (Critical Maritime Routes on the Indian Ocean), later I will present all those who must be involved. Starting this year I am ready," Andika said in a meeting with Military Advisor European Union Colonel Sylvain Louvet, monitored from General TNI Andika Perkasa's YouTube channel, Jakarta, Thursday (18/8/2022).

CRIMARIO is a project funded by the European Union with a focus on the maritime sector.

Through CRIMARIO, there is a platform called IORIS that is used to share information in the maritime sector, especially in the Indo-Pacific region.

The exchange of information in the maritime sector is expected to be beneficial for the security and defense of the Republic of Indonesia.

General TNI Andika Perkasa welcomes these collaborations and hopes to provide an opportunity for soldiers to interact with representatives from European countries in exchanging knowledge and sharing experiences.

"Cooperation with the European Union provides wider opportunities for TNI soldiers to interact with European countries, to share knowledge and hone skills," he said.

On the occasion, European Union Military Advisor Colonel Sylvain Louvet explained other programs that would also involve Indonesia, such as crisis management, cyber defense, and combating terrorism. (antara)
