The Director of Enforcement of the Deputy Attorney General for Military Crimes Brigadier General Edy Imran stated that the Attorney General's Office (AGO) named three people as suspects in the alleged corruption case related to the project for the procurement of the 123° East Longitude (BT) Orbit Satellite at the Ministry of Defense (Kemenhan) from 2012 to 2021. t
This corruption case has cost the state more than Rp 500 billion.
"The total loss to the state due to the actions of the suspects from what I mentioned earlier is IDR 500,579,782,789," said the Director of Enforcement of the Deputy Attorney General for Military Crimes Brigadier General Edy Imran during a press conference at the Attorney General's Office, Jakarta, Wednesday (15/6/2022). .
Edy explained that the total loss consisted of payments for satellite leases and arbitration awards amounting to Rp480,324,374,442 and consultant payments amounting to Rp 20,255,408,347. The total loss of half a trillion rupiah has been audited by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).
Connectivity investigators consist of prosecutors in the field of military crimes, POM TNI investigators, and the Jakarta High Military Auditor II in intense coordination with BPKP. Coordination aims to determine the elements that meet the alleged occurrence of corruption in the Kemhan satellite case.
BPKP, said Edy, has carried out internal audits, audits for certain purposes, and investigative audits until they finally found a state loss in the Kemhan satellite case this time.
"And from the results of the marathon examination of witnesses' statements and other evidence, in the form of documents, letters, video recordings, sound recordings and other evidence, there are strong and convincing elements, it is reasonable to suspect that state losses have occurred in the procurement and lease processes. The suspects are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
