Polda Metro Rejects Application for Suspension of Detention of Former Minister Roy Suryo

The case file for Roy Suryo's alleged blasphemy case is also ready to be transferred to the prosecutor's office on Monday (15/8).

The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Endra Zulpan stated that investigators from the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Polda Metro Jaya rejected the request for a suspension of Roy Suryo's detention in the case of the Borobudur Temple stupa meme.

Endra Zulpan said that the refusal of the request for a suspension of the detention of former Youth and Sports Minister (Menpora) Roy Suryo was the investigator's consideration.

"This decision is taken into account by investigators, preventing the suspect from eliminating evidence, escaping. There are various kinds of things. The public can judge," said Endra Zulpan in Jakarta, Friday (12/8/2022).

Zulpan added that the case file of Roy Suryo's alleged blasphemy case is also ready to be transferred to the prosecutor's office on Monday (15/8).

Roy Suryo has been detained since Friday (5/8). He did not get special treatment while in detention due to the alleged blasphemy case.

Roy Suryo was detained for the next 20 days at the Polda Metro Jaya detention center. He was placed in a cell with other prisoners. (Among)
