The WHO's target is 70 percent full-dose vaccine by June 2022.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Mohammad Syahril said that the achievement of the second or complete dose of vaccine in Indonesia for those over 12 years old was only 62.16 percent. This figure is still below the standards of the World Health Organization (WHO).
"The WHO target is 70 percent of the complete dose of vaccine by June 2022. This means that we still have around 8 percent of homework (PR) to fulfill herd immunity," Syahril said in a virtual press conference, Friday, June 10, 2022.
Syahril emphasized that achieving the WHO target is a joint task between the government and the community. The vaccine is an effort to provide immunity from the threat of Covid-19 transmission.
Meanwhile, the Covid-19 Handling Task Force noted that the number of Indonesians who were injected with the full or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine continued to grow.
A total of 167,997,799 people had received the complete vaccine as of Friday, June 10, 2022 and the number of injections of the first dose was 200,793,172 people. (kemenkes, antara, foto: ilustrasi)
