The focus of Jokowi's visit is to strengthen economic cooperation, especially in the fields of trade and investment.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Monday (25/7/2022) left for China to start a working visit. After China, Jokowi will visit Japan and South Korea (South Korea).
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi in a press statement on Thursday (21/7) stated that the visit to Beijing would be on July 26, 2022, to Tokyo on July 27, and to Seoul on July 28, 2022.
Retno said Jokowi's visit to East Asia was a short visit, 3 days for 3 countries.
Retno added that the three countries are Indonesia's strategic partners in the economic sector and strategic partners of Indonesia and ASEAN.
"The focus of the visit is to discuss strengthening economic cooperation, particularly in trade and investment," said Retno.
Jokowi is scheduled to meet Premier Le Kiqiang and President Xi Jinping while in China. Jokowi is said to be one of the first leaders Xi Jinping received during the pandemic.
"The President of the Republic of Indonesia is one of the first leaders received by President Xi Jinping during this pandemic, outside of the Winter Olympics in Beijing earlier this year," said Retno.
After that, Jokowi will leave for Tokyo. Jokowi will meet Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. Next, Jokowi will visit Seoul. Jokowi is scheduled to meet South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and South Korean business people on July 28, 2022. (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Presidential Decree)
