Indonesia Allocates Education Budget Next Year Rp608.3 Trillion

This number is up 5.8 percent compared to this year which was Rp. 574.9 trillion.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that the Jokowi government had budgeted Rp608.3 trillion for education in 2023.

The Rp608.3 trillion education budget is contained in the 2023 Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN).

This number is up 5.8 percent compared to this year which was Rp. 574.9 trillion.

"Education is Rp. 608.3 trillion and from K/L expenditures of Rp. 233 trillion, including the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Religion," said the Minister of Finance at a Press Conference on the Financial Note and the 2023 RAPBN in Jakarta, Tuesday (16/8/2022).

The Rp608.3 trillion education budget is specifically allocated through central government expenditures of Rp233.9 trillion, Transfers to Regions and Village Funds (TKDD) of Rp305 trillion and financing of Rp69.5 trillion.

The central government expenditure allocation of Rp 233.9 trillion for the education budget will be utilized in the form of the Government Investment Center (PIP) to 20.1 million students.

Then the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) for Lectures to 976.8 thousand students and the Non-PNS Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG) for 556.9 thousand non-PNS teachers.

As for the allocation of TKDD Rp305 trillion for School Operational Assistance (BOS) to 44.2 million students and BOS PAUD to 6.1 million students.

The allocation of the Rp69.5 trillion funding is used for education endowments including pesantren, research endowments, university endowments, cultural endowments as well as education funding.

Meanwhile, the direction of the education budget policy for next year will focus on increasing access to education at all levels through the expansion of compulsory education and education assistance. (Ministry of Finance, antara)
