The increase in antibodies was based on the results of the second serosurvey conducted by the Ministry of Health.
Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that the antibodies of the Indonesian people had increased to 99.2 percent, ahead of the 2022 Eid holiday.
The increase in antibodies was based on the results of the second serosurvey conducted by the Ministry of Health.
While the results of the previous serosurvey in December 2021 showed community antibodies amounting to 88.6 percent, both from vaccinations and antibodies from infections.
The high antibody level of the Indonesian people is the basis for policies taken by the government to face the 2022 Eid period.
"It can be said that the antibody levels of the Indonesian people rose to 99.2 percent. This means that 99.2 percent of the Indonesian population already has antibodies, whether it comes from vaccination or from infection," explained Minister of Health Budi when giving a press statement on the results of the PPKM limited meeting at the Presidential Office, Monday (18/4/2022).
In addition, the measure of community antibody levels also increased. Last December, the antibody levels of the Indonesian people were still around 500-600. Meanwhile, in March, the community's antibody levels had reached 7,000-8,000.
This, said the Minister of Health, shows that many people already have antibodies and their antibody levels are also high.
"So that if we are attacked by a virus, our immune system can quickly deal with it and reduce the risk of being admitted to the hospital or the risk of dying," he explained. (antara)
