Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia stated that the realization of investment during the first quarter of 2022 was IDR 282.4 trillion, an increase of 28.5 percent year on year and 16.9 percent quarterly.
“This achievement is a record in the last 10 years investment growth of 16 percent. This shows that the government's policy gives investors a sense of certainty, something different, so that investors can invest both from within and outside the country," said Bahlil Lahadalia at a press conference, Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
The total realization, as much as 52.1 percent or Rp. 14.2 trillion came from foreign investment (PMA). FDI increased by 31.8 percent year on year and 20.5 percent on a quarterly basis.
The amount of domestic investment (PMDN) is IDR 135.2 trillion or 47.9 percent. This figure is up 13.3 percent on a quarterly basis and 25.1 percent on an annual basis.
Based on the distribution, provinces outside Java dominated the realization of investment in the first quarter of this year. Total investment outside Java reached IDR 148.7 trillion, up 30 percent compared to the same period in 2021. Meanwhile, total investment in Java was IDR 133.7 trillion or 47.3 percent.
Bahlil detailed that the basic service, metal, non-machine and equipment industrial sectors were the champions for investment achievements at the beginning of the year.
The total realization of investment in this sector is Rp. 39.7 trillion. This was followed by investment achievements in the transportation, warehouse and telecommunications sectors which reached Rp 39.5 trillion and mining with Rp 35.2 trillion.
The housing sector, industrial estates, and offices occupy the fourth position with an achievement of Rp 24.9 trillion. Meanwhile, investment in the electricity, gas and water sectors was in fifth position with a total realization of Rp 23.1 trillion. (antara, tempo, kompas)
