Coordinating Minister Luhut and Elon Musk met to discuss plans for investing in electric vehicle batteries in Indonesia.
Spokesman for the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan Jodi Mahardi said President Joko Widodo was invited by the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, Elon Musk, to SpaceX's headquarters in Texas, United States, on May 14, 2022.
Jodi Mahardi stated that the Coordinating Minister for Marves on Monday (25/4) with his entourage met Elon and visited Giga Factory Texas, Tesla's factory.
"There was an invitation from Elon to invite Pak Jokowi to meet at the SpaceX facility in Texas," said Jodi to reporters, Tuesday (26/4).
The visit to the SpaceX spacecraft launch site in Texas follows the US-Asia Summit which will take place on May 12-13, 2022.
In addition, Jodi said, the arrival of Elon Musk's team also discussed opportunities for investment cooperation with Starlink, a satellite-based internet service.
He also explained that the main discussion of the Luhut and Elon Musk meeting was about the plan to invest in electric vehicle batteries in Indonesia.
