The BUMN vaccines that have been produced by Bio Farma have received halal certification from the MUI.
Director of Bio Farma Honesti Basyir said that he was preparing 120 million doses of BUMN vaccines. According to Honesti, the priority for the covid vaccine produced by Bio Farma is the third vaccine or booster vaccine.
Honesti admits that the readiness of BUMN vaccines is slower than imported vaccines. However, he believes the need for vaccines will remain high as long as the pandemic status has not been lifted.
"As long as the pandemic status has not been revoked, the need for the vaccine is still there. Later we will ask the government to prioritize domestic vaccines," Honesti said, during a visit to the phase 3 clinical trial center for the COVID-19 vaccine at the Padang Pariaman District Hospital, Tuesday (12/7/2020). 2022).
Honesti added, at the end of July they will complete the production of vaccines for adults. They conducted trials of the vaccine at four points.
Namely in Padang Pariaman Regency in collaboration with Andalas University, Semarang City in collaboration with Diponegoro University, Depok City in collaboration with the University of Indonesia and Makassar City in collaboration with Hasanuddin University.
He said that the SOE vaccine that had been produced by Bio Farma had obtained halal certification from the Indonesian Ulema Council. So, according to Honesti, this BUMN vaccine is guaranteed to be halal for the community.
Later, although the vaccine achievement in Indonesia has become wider or higher, according to Honesti Bio Farma will try to export this BUMN vaccine. Because there are still many other countries that lack vaccines.
"If it's done domestically, of course we can export or help other countries. Because our vaccines are recognized by WHO," Honesti said.
